lidraughts.org

playstrategy.org has American Checkers/English draughts

Coding doesn't take a lot of work and effort: it is measurable by number of lines (generally, around 100 lines as I explained above) and hours of testing, except if the implementation requires huge number of changes (i.e., very specific board orientation, high number of specific rules).

@statmatt
to the wonderful suggestion of @kalnap I would also add Malaysian/Singaporean checkers (12x12), Checkers without mandatory capture and of course Werewolf Checkers and Russian Besiege Checkers.

Yes, the whole world will play their local versions of checkers on Playstrategy and applaud the developers of that site.
However, the reality is completely different.
Filling the site with solved games and nomad games is much more interesting and useful than those games that are really in demand by the public.
And yes, this is sarcasm, in case someone doesn’t understand.

Yes, indeed. Apart from slaves of engines, whoever needs practically solved variants?

I posted it on BGG to save the game from oblivion.

@ErzyaKS Because of uncertainty and unpredictability in the endgame, this variant should be classified as competitive. However, I dislike that optional capturing is unconditional, because it can lead to openings where one of the sides has forced loss. I like that optional capturing can enable PARTIAL capturing, but I would like to set some restrictions. For example, capturing can become optional, if there are at least 10 vacant squares on the board.

Only one type of checkers - American checkers, has millions of fans all over the world, and if it were on this site, then at least several tens of thousands of new users would appear on it. The creators of the site themselves deprive themselves of a huge audience, among which 100%, there would be many sponsors.
