Hello Lidraughts community,
I’m excited to introduce Albay Draughts (Lite), a draughts engine I’ve developed entirely from scratch.
Over time, I've noticed a significant gap in open-source development for Russian and Brazilian draughts—most developers either keep their engines private or strictly sell them for money. That lack of accessibility is exactly what inspired me to build Albay.
The bot running on the platform right now is the Lite version, which features a well-rounded opening book and 4-piece endgame tablebases. I also have a Pro version that is significantly faster and stronger. Having thoroughly tested the Pro version against some of the top-tier Russian draughts programs out there, I can confidently say it holds its ground perfectly and often outplays them.
Feel free to challenge the bot! It currently accepts time controls anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
A quick note: If there is enough interest from the community, I would be more than happy to open-source the project and provide all the code to help integrate Albay directly into Lidraughts.
