The finals of the first Qualification Series, ‘Road to African Championships’, will take place on 28 June 2026 from 8 pm (Central African Time: 7 pm).

The eight finalists will have the opportunity to win prize money towards their travel costs to Benin, where the first official African Frisian Draughts Championships will be held from 2 to 18 October.

Prize money will only be paid if players come to Benin and participate in the championships. If they fail to do so, the prize money will be held by the WFD Foundation for them until they participate in another real-life tournament.

In the event of a tie between two or more players, the prize money will be divided equally between them.

If no ties occur, the prize money will be distributed as follows:

First place: €300
Second place: €250
Third place: €200
Fourth place: €150
Fifth to eighth place: €100
