As some may have noticed, the lidraughts website has been unstable for some time last night, which happened again this evening.
Unfortunately, it seems that this is a network issue with our server provider (possibly DDoS related), which is outside of our control.
If this cannot be resolved short term, we will be switching to a new server a.s.ap.
We apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused in the meantime.
Any updates will be posted here in the forum.
Website instability
Thank you for introducing the chess community to the wonderful game of draughts, Roep, and good luck with the servers.
BTW - server is working fine for me ATM.
Luckily things remained stable except for those incidents. But it's still a bad omen that this happened twice in the first week.
We will therefore switch to a more reliable server provider anyway, the new server has already been ordered. Date/time of server migration will be posted here as soon as this is set!
Some downtime is of course unavoidable, but we will try to do keep this to a minimum and migrate during the night.
Still network storms outside of our control have been occurring, causing random downtime / connection loss, luckily only with limited duration so far.
But... The new server has finally been delivered, using a better (read: more expensive) server provider with integrated DDoS protection, which will be installed in the coming days!
Hopefully we will be able to make the switch before the weekend, which should solve any connection issues people may have experienced.
Stay tuned!
Server migration is planned for tonight. Lidraughts will go down after midnight CET between 24:00 and 1:00
Expected downtime is 2 hours
huh?
And we're back!
The new server works like a charm.
