Are there or could there be plans to add English draughts (a.k.a. American checkers, straight checkers) as a variant in some future update of the site? I'm aware it's a somewhat simpler game than many of the variants here, but it's the game I and most everyone in the US and UK know best, and is certainly deep enough to support serious play. I would really appreciate having a good place to play it online.

Yes, in some future probably. But we have to take it step by step and it is unclear at the moment how long each step will take. And FYI, the next variant that will be added is Brazilian Draughts.
