I recommend raising "moves per game" from 40 to 45:

github.com/RoepStoep/lidraughts/blob/master/modules/draughts/src/main/Clock.scala#L187
Time Control calclulation
Why so?
Makes sense @Toadofsky, we might even have to go for 50:
An average chessgame seems to last 40 moves, as analysis of game databases shows, and as is suggested by the traditional increment at move 40.
With draughts this increment comes at move 50, and in the discussion on this forum (World Draughts Forum, in Dutch) it is also found from a database of official competition / tournament games that the average is around 50 moves:

Let's make it 50 then.
Indeed @RoepStoep , 50 sounds great!
(What motivated my suggestion was seeing on LidraughtsTV that many games are over 40 moves.)

:)
Are there any games on lidraughts TV, @toadofsky ?
What is this “moves per game”? I assume from the above that it is the average moves per game, but what does this have to do with time controll. (Too lazy to dive into a code.)
It is used to decide whether timecontrols such as 2+8, 2+9 etc are categorized blitz or rapid
Oh, thanks a lot. Just by reading that I remembered :).
