If you like tactical games, your best choice would be to play
(1) classical positions; as white you can easily reach them by 1. 31-27 or 1. 33-28;
(2) dyke positions (ones where white has a checker / draughtsman on square 24 or black has a checker / draughtsman on square 27);
(3) positions where you allow opponent to make left-wing bind: for white, 1. 35-30 20-25; for black: 1. 32-28 16-21. These openings are tactically harsh for both sides, and if you master them, you can score very well under short time control.
A good resource for mastering shots in dyke positions is a book http://checkersusa.com/books/10x10/Buzhinsky_Leiibovich_International_Draughts_Tactics_1991.djvu .
