Thank you so much for the wonderful work you do with Lidraughts. It’s such a great place to enjoy draughts, learn new things, and connect with other players.

I’d love to suggest adding Spanish Draughts (Damas Españolas) to the platform. It’s very popular in Spain, Portugal, North Africa, and Latin America, and I think many players around the world would be excited to play and discover it on Lidraughts.

I’m sure this variant would make the community even richer and give players the chance to explore more draughts traditions.

Devs are deaf to variant expansion.
Some years ago for free projects like lidraughts the mainly obstacle would be lack of volunteers. However, we live in the era of ChatGPT, Deep Ai, Copilot who can quicken the realization of programming part. I tried to communicate with ChatGPT in these matters, and ChatGPT affirmed that it can help in Scala programming which is used for coding in lidraughts.
Therefore, I can express nothing better but only dissatisfaction for the lack in communication in the matters of variant expansion. Just a reminder: if devs would prefer to hire a programmer for this work, we could collect the necessary amount by donations easily. However, it seems devs have lost an interest.

Spanish draughts is not just another variant — it has a long history, a strong cultural value, and a passionate community of players around the world. Many of us truly believe that bringing Spanish draughts to Lidraughts would enrich the platform and make it even more inclusive.

Today, the technical challenges are not as big as before. With tools like ChatGPT, Deep AI, and Copilot, programming support is easier and faster. And if developer time is the main limitation, I am convinced that the community would gladly support a donation campaign to fund the necessary work.

This is not only about adding a variant, but also about listening to the voices of players who want to see their tradition represented. Please, developers, reconsider this step — adding Spanish draughts would strengthen Lidraughts and bring more people to the platform.
