I just started playing draughts, I'm 1800 lichess and I want to improve in draughts I assume my biggest strength is my board visualization but I suppose I still need to get used to draughts patterns just like in chess.
I also know that playing longer games and analyzing the games afterwards(first alone then with the engine) can help.
Any improvement tips?

u need to discover the most important tactical patterns that can't be learned only with practice (It would be too long).
With puzzle from lidraughts u'll improve in tactics.
After that, strategy at draughts isn't that easy because there's no clear goal. You'll need a coach, good books, and play a lot to begin to understand some strategical thought. The most important thing is to keep mobility for your pieces. Each time a piece is out of game, each time you will have to consider that weakness.
Draughts is a marvelous game, you are right to try to understand it.
