For me to improve here :
1) Would add English checkers (Checkers 64).
2) Would add Turkish checkers
3) Would add the artificial intelligence of the analysis of the games that is present in the 100 checkers (namely for the variants of Brazilian, Russian checkers) The analysis for these variants with artificial intelligence and the scale of evaluating positions is absent ...
4) I would add puzzles for the Brazilian version . They are absent and how can you train ?
5) The display of the puzzle rating for the Russian version is missing in the profile from the mobile application in the profile page. I would also add.
It seems to me that all this is not enough for Lidraughts ... If you add the Turkish and English options, it will interest many players and bring a lot of new players to the application. And also, if you add artificial intelligence to the analysis of other options, and not just 100, then this idea will appeal to many players and it will be very convenient to analyze games. I don't think it's difficult.
Thank you for your attention, I hope that in the future the developers will be able to implement this. I like Lidraughts and I want my idea to be supported, because all this is so lacking here, thank you !)
How to improve Lidraughts ? Just read my offer, you will be interested :)
Let me state again:
we don't need any engine analysis for any variant on 8x8 board.
Why?
You need to respect the efforts of MASTERS who had already provided major lines in ANY opening.
The engine analysis will not improve your performance.
Why?
Because you need to learn all elements of strategic and tactical play by REAL examples and through works of numerous theoreticians. Many publications of them are already digitalized, so why do you want to invent a bicycle, if it is already invented?
Moreover, there is no bright future for 8x8 board: it is great for those who are doing first steps into huge world of draughts, however, because so much theory is covered, there is NO ROOM for own creativity on 8x8 board - at least, for the most popular variants. 8x10 board, 10x8 board, 10x10 board offers more freedom and more creativity.
Unlike chess players, we are not restricted within the dimensions of the board: we can play on virtually any board and apply known tactical and strategical ideas on each of them.
How about a 50x50 board!!!
Theoretically, it is possible, but practically nobody will dedicated 6 hours for a single game.
Just for comparison purposes, in Canadian draughts (12x12 board) you reach the later stage of middlegame around move 80, and many of games take 120 moves. For this number of moves, 10' time control per game should be considered as blitz game!
However, there are variants which take higher number of moves, for example, South African draughts is played on 14x14 board (you can watch this in youtu.be/rn8ogdgKGLc?si=LHEVOA9zZqXtIcN4 , btw), and I doubt if you can blitz it at time control 15'.
I'm talking about AI analysis on boards in Russian and Brazilian variants. There are many checkers programs for analysis 64 but why can't you do the analysis in Lidraughts?) Why the limitation to only 10x10... I gave examples of points that I would change, this is just my opinion. But I respect the developers.
English and Turkish checkers are also popular. It wouldn't be bad to add them) It's just my idea
@CyberSpeed , I think a 50x50 board like this is too big, ahhahahahah
@Maserati The engine analysis is enabled for 10x10 board only because apart from Fabien Letouzey, the developper of Scan, no one programmer was willing to contribute or to adapt his engine to lidraughts. So you must blame dozens of programmers who satisfied their curiosity by cracking the game on 8x8 board and afterwards refused to explore less common variants.
However, even in the case of Scan, many trained players had noticed that in many cases Scan doesn't detect the nature of endgame properly: it prefers material advantage over positional advantage, therefore, in many cases his proposed line runs into a draw due to material insufficiency.
@kalnap to some extent you are right . Yes, the analysis is not perfect, but it can still give recommendations. It's not just about perfecting it, because you insist that this analysis is not necessary at all, but it is not. I mean, it wouldn't be bad to add the same analysis for 8x8 variants. The thing is, I'm not sure if the developers are looking at these forums , lol. So everything we write here is seen only by players.
I was just suggesting what could be improved.
