web resources for international 8X8 draughts/brazilian draughts

Hello,
I am trying to improve my game in Brazilian/international 8X8 draught and looking for (unsuccessfully) for ebooks or web based resources for this type of draught. I will appreciate if someone could point me in the direction of such things.

Many thanks.

@JoeGee
Personally, I don't know any publication on Brazilian draughts which was made publicly available in English.

However, there are publications in other languages which you might consider useful.

In Brazilian Portuguese, it is a book from famous Grandmaster Bakumenko which is available for download at revistabrasileiradejogodedamas.wordpress.com/2018/12/30/livro-do-grande-mestre-bakumenko-curso-de-damas-brasileiras/ .

In Polish, it is a short training manual which is very valuable for those who are making first steps into Brazilian draughts, and it is available for download at www.warcaby.pl/pobierz/212/szkolny-instruktor-warcabowy/5441/wprowadzenie-do-warcabow-klasycznych.pdf

However, let me state that Brazilian draughts are very close to Pool draughts (or, as American players would say, American Pool checkers), therefore, you might also consider some books on Pool draughts which are published in English. There is nothing wrong in learning Pool draughts: compatibility between these 2 variants is very high, at least for 90%, and it becomes even higher if standard endgames are reached. Players who are native to Pool draughts, have to learn only some techniques for exploiting majority capturing rule in Brazilian draughts, but in all other aspects they can play in similar manner. The corresponding site for downloading free books is http://poolcheckers.com/books/Kaplan/ .

Thank you vey much for your replies.

Let me expand this topic a bit.
For those who are familiar with old DOS applications which might be run also in browser, there is a good shareware program which can be useful for you in training process. Although this program suffers from proper evaluation in some kind of positions, it is enough hard for beating. It is DYNAMO DRAUGHTS by PC solutions. This program allows you to adjust size of the board, and you might select even unusual size of the board like 8x10 or 10x8. Those players who are used to play with long diagonal at the right hand, can also adjust this option in settings.

Very useful and many thanks. I am a beginner and primarily focusing on 10x10 international as I’m based in the Netherlands and there is a lot of material here.

But in your experience would there be a problem of simultaneously reading 8x8 books on pool/Brazilian, would skills be relatively comparable or would it only confuse because the tactics or strategy is too different?

Despite lower number of squares, Russian, Brazilian or Pool draughts are much harder to master than International draughts. There is relatively big theory behind many openings (but it is not so much in comparison to chess openings), and, normally, you would need to spend at least 3 years for playing any ballot with confidence.
However, there are some good things that you can learn from Brazilian or Pool draughts, particularly, king endgames. King endgames in International draughts are relatively easier to master, however, once you master handling kings on 8x8 draughts, you will be able to transfer these skills to bigger boards.
As for tactical and strategical aspects of game, some ideas can be learned easier on 8x8 board than on 10x10 board. It is the reason why those players who are native to 8x8 board draughts, transfer and adapt their skills to 10x10 board easier than vice versa.

Thank you for your reply. I'll also look into reading Kaplan and working with Aurora for 8x8 analysis.
