Why does Black have an advantage in the middlegame?

@HawaiiBlue
1. One principle of positional play in any variant of draughts is to distribute draughtsmen (checkers) proportionally or equally between flanks. In your game, after 10. 41x21 white left flank was considerably weakened, and because of it, any strong player would tell you that black stands better. (It is the reason why an engine suggests 10. 26x37).
2. 22. 28-22 is what we might call as 'overextension' : it is useless move, because you create semi-isolated draughtsman (checker) which can be target of attacks, but one of the side that under defensive mode a player is forced to create some other weaknesses, for example, empty or half-empty crowning row.
